Cranston Gauge

Whether you heard it called an Apple Gauge, a Fruit Gauge or a Thinning Gauge, since 1948 growers and packers around the globe have turned to the CRANSTON Gauge for Simple, Fast and Accurate measurements.

  • It fits in a pocket and requires one hand to operate. No electronics, no batteries, just tough plastic parts and a spring steel band
  • Slide the thumb tab to tighten the band around the produce, read the diameter at the pointer.
  • +/- 0.010 inch (+/- .254mm)
  • Measurement range is 0.8” (20.32mm) to 4.0” (101.6mm). Inch scale on one side, millimeters on the other.

Although the CRANSTON produce measuring gauge’s lineage comes from measuring the circumference of Apples and Pears, today it’s used on all sorts of fruits and vegetables. It can measure virtually anything that will fit in its band.

Growers use the CRANSTON produce measuring gauge during the growing season (bloom to harvest), as the dimensional data can be very helpful to estimate the characteristics of the harvest and need for thinning
